Privacy
taskcat.dev is one person's site. This page says what it keeps about you, where that lives, and how to get rid of it. Last updated 3 October 2026.
Without an account
You can play and build Catnnections puzzles and use PROse with no account at all. A puzzle you save without signing in is stored so its link works, along with an optional author name you typed and a hashed form of your IP address kept only to stop abuse. PROse without an account keeps everything in your own browser.
With an account
Signing in creates a TaskCat account. It holds your email address, your name and avatar if you sign in with Google, and the things you choose to save: your Catnnections puzzles and your PROse passages and settings. Nothing is sold, shared, or used for advertising, and there are no ad or tracking networks on the site.
Published docs
From the TaskCat app you can publish a doc to taskcat.dev and share it by link. A published doc is a copy of its text, stored under your account until you unpublish it. Anyone holding a read link can see it, and anyone holding an edit link can change it. Links are never listed anywhere, and search engines are told not to index them. People editing through a link don't sign in: they show up under a made-up name like "Guest Tabby", and nothing about them is kept except what they type into the doc and, for a couple of days, a hashed form of their IP address used only to stop abuse.
Where it lives
- Clerk handles sign-in and stores your account (email, name, avatar, password if you set one).
- Supabase stores the content you save: puzzles, passages, settings, published docs. Live editing on a shared doc travels through Supabase too.
- Cloudflare serves the site and, with its privacy-first analytics, counts page views without cookies or identifying you.
Signing in with Google gives taskcat.dev only your email address, name and profile picture. It never sees your password and cannot read anything else in your Google account.
Removing things
Delete a puzzle from your account page; its link stops working. Delete passages inside PROse. Unpublish a doc from the TaskCat app; the copy and every link to it are deleted right away. Delete the account itself under Manage account on the same page; that removes your login. If you want every trace gone, including saved content, write to [email protected] and it will be removed by hand.
